I was so excited when I found out that KT Tunstall was releasing a new album called Tiger Suit. I happen to be a huge fan of KT…in fact, my dog Winnie always sings along with her song “Black Horse and the Cherry Tree“. She does the Whoo-hoo’s with KT. It is hysterical. When One2One asked me to review her newest songs, I jumped at the chance!
In a nutshell? We love it here at the KatyShops house. Is super rocking in a very hip kind of way. KT has remained true to herself but also moved right along with the current music trends. My favorite song on the album is “Come On, Get In“, my daughter Riley loves “(Still A) Weirdo“. I just love her strong gravely voice – a true rocker in my book. If you loved her past hits, you will certainly love this the same. It is true KT.

One of my favorite things about Summer is grilling out. Not only does it taste good, it keeps my kitchen cool. We love experimenting with different marinades. Lawry’s has some great new marinades out – my favorite is Tuscan Sun-Dried Tomato Marinade (extra virgin olive oil, sun-dried tomatoes, sweet red bell peppers and herbs). Yum! While my daughter has been in China we tried to feel a little bit closer to her by using the Szechuan Sweet & Sour BBQ Marinade (sweet, sour, and a little heat). They are both amazing! My new smell…$15 Walmart giftcard giveaway too!
I love “smelly” things. I am a huge fan of anything Febreeze. MyBlogSpark and Febreeze sent me a few of their newest products to try out and I am hooked! They are from their new limited edition Summer Scents Home Collection.
My absolute favorite product was the new No-Spill Wood Diffuser. I’m sure you have all seen the scented oils with the wood sticks poking out of them. This is better. The top on the bottle of oil is made of wood and acts like the wood reeds do – only it screws on tight. That means if a child or dog (or husband) knocks it over, it won’t spill! I actually spilled this oil (from another company) and it took the finish off of my table. The honeysuckle orchid scent is a really fresh light Summer scent. The smell is very subtle. The first night I set it up my daughter walked through the room and I asked her what kind of lotion she was wearing – it was that subtle.
Another product that I have been wanting to try for a long time is the Flameless Luminary. I have seen the ads for them and thought they looked really pretty. A great modern update to home scented products. I tried the Cherry Blossom Whimsy and am hooked! First of all, it is so pretty. Very Zen looking. But the true test was the scent. Loved it! Changing the scent is as easy as changing the shade. Again, this is a really safe alternative to candles or oil. It has the look of candlelight with no flame or heat. Perfect for homes with children or pets.

I recently had the chance to review the new Sex and the City 2 soundtrack….and I love it! Filled with great artists like Alecia Keys, Erykah Badu, Dido, Cyndi Lauper,Leona Lewis, Jennifer Hudson and even Liza Minnelli it appeals to all ages. My favorite song is Track number 1 – Alicia Key singing a remix of Blondie’s “Rapture”. Awesome. It is remixed with the Sex and the City Theme (which was my ring tone for many many years). My girls enjoyed the music too…except for one of the songs. Liza Minnelli singing “Single Ladies”. They laughed and laughed when that came on! Another favorite of mine is “I Am Woman” sung by the 4 Sex in The City ladies – Kim Cattrall, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon.

My husband has been working hard keeping my older Volvo running smooth. It has been very time consuming the last few weeks.
