Adventure!

No shopping for me this weekend…just plenty of new things!

Do you ever use Groupon?  It is a site that emails you a daily specific coupon for the area that you live in.  Sometimes it is for a great restaurant or museum, and sometimes it is a really great adventure.   Recently, I purchased two different Groupon coupons and I am redeeming them this weekend.

  • Today, I am taking off with 6 of my girlfriends to zip line in South Carolina!  I have never done this before and I am so excited!!  A helicopter will lift us to the top of the Chattooga Ridge…and then we will enjoy a 3 hour zip line canopy tour over the forest.  The Groupon deal allowed us to purchase the tour for only $35 (which is half off) from Whitewater LTD.  What a perfect girls day!

  • Tomorrow, I am helping with something near and dear to my heart…our local food pantry.   I was introduced to volunteering at the food pantry by my 15 year old daughter.  She convinced me to come help out, and I have been blessed to be a part of it ever since then.  The director will be out for the weekend and she has put myself and my friend in charge of running the food pantry for the day.  That is HUGE shoes to fill…so keep us in your prayers.  Of course their will be an army of wonderful volunteers that will ensure the day goes off without a hitch.
  • Sunday, I am redeeming yet another Groupon.  This time I am taking my daughter to the Metropolitan Cooking and Entertaining Show.  For $29 we purchased a ticket to see Bobby Flay work his magic!  She shares my love of cooking and chef’s are her rock stars. This will be a day we will always remember.   We will watch his show and then tour the expo….picking up samples and meeting new chefs.  I can’t wait to share all of the great new products that I will find at the show…just wait, I’m sure I will find some great things!

Looking for some adventure?  Sign up to get your daily Groupon deal…you never know where it might send you!

Great to have you girls coming out today. One correction is that an actual helicopter does not take you to the top of the ridge. A “Helicopter lift” like you would see on a rescue helicopter will lift you to the top of the first platform. Hopefully that didn’t disappoint you. You will have a blast I’m sure!! Jeff
