Apparently, last week 49 out of the 50 states had snow. Can you believe that? Riley is leaving today for a ski trip in North Carolina. Lucky for her…there will be snow (might be man-made…but who cares)! We have been packing her bags with all kinds of cold weather gear…

I see the sun…
With temps in the 60′s I start thinking about Spring. Last year, we started all of our plants as seedlings…not doing that this year. Except for my herbs. I found these great self-watering pots that not only look great, but they are a perfect hassle free way to always have fresh herbs in your kitchen. Not bad for only $15 each. Way more economical (and handy) than buying fresh herbs from your grocery store.

I’m listening to…
Celtic Woman – Songs from the Heart. As a music mom, I get the chance to listen to music that I might never have been exposed to. I was so glad to have the opportunity to review this new CD. Both of my girls play the violin and it is so nice to be able to show them how versatile the instrument can be. Of course they have heard it in classical music and in country music…but this was really different. This music is beautiful. Really, really moves you. I have never heard Amazing Grace played like this before. They also play contemporary classics from Sting & Billy Joel. The CD appeals to all ages.

I have a little sneak peek for you…on Monday’s show Senator Evan Bayth will be on discussing his decision not to run for re-election in 2010. I was intrigued watching him and his family as they made the announcement. I can’t wait to see what he has to say about it. What do you think? For the dogs….
I have heard about 2 products recently that are made for dogs. Puppy Tweets, is a collar that your dog wears that periodically Tweets throughout the day. You can tell if it is sleeping, eating, or just scratching. The product by Mattel will be out this Fall.
This next one is a really great idea. Findtoto.com will help you find your dog if it is lost. The service will call up to 10,000 people in the area where your dog was last seen. The message will say “This is a lost-pet alert from your neighbor (your name), who lost her dog…”, they will give a description of your dog, your contact info, and where it was last seen. What a great idea! Now, it is costly…$85 for 250 calls, up to $850 for 10,000 calls. So, make some flyers or call everyone? What would you do Winnie?
