They say…
…that it is the best new eyeshadow product out there right now. They say that it is so easy to use. They say that it is awesome. They do. Who are they you might ask? Everyone! In Style Magazine, my friend Kristen, bloggers…I’m telling you, everyone. I can’t tell you what I think because I haven’t tried it. Yet. I’m going to soon. I’m getting some.
What is it? Covergirl Smokey Shadow Blast. “two different, specially contoured ends of our ShadowBlast stick make it easy to create a bold, colorful, smoky eye. A duo of expertly paired shades provide the bold, spotlight-ready looks loved by today’s hottest makeup artists.”
Have you tried it yet? If not, you can pick one (or 5) up at your drugstore for under 10 bucks.
Be still, my chocolate heart.
I have never had a Cheerio that I didn’t like. Apple ones, frosted ones, plain ole’ oat ones. What I didn’t expect to find was Chocolate Cheerios! Yippee!! Finally a chocolate cereal that you feel good about eating! So not only do they taste amazing (who doesn’t need a little chocolate pick me up in the morning?), they have all of the same benefits that the other Cheerios have:
” low in fat, heart healthy*, has 100 calories per serving, contains at least 8 grams of whole grain per serving (at least 48 grams recommended daily), and is a good source of calcium and vitamin D.”
The baking possibilities are endless too…you can make a ton of great recipes using Chocolate Cheerios. You can check out the recipes and print out a coupon for your very own box of cereal here.
MyBlogSpark sent me this great little Chocolate Cheerios gift pack so I could give them a try….but don’t get jealous, they are letting me give away one Chocolate Cheerio gift pack to one of you!!! You will get a box of Chocolate Cheerios, a neat little bag of chocolate body products (soap, bath salts, body soap, and a body puff), and a big bowl to eat your Cheerios from.
I wish you could all try these out – they are super yummy! But…I only have one give away. To enter, leave me a comment on this post telling me what your favorite breakfast is (even if it is cold pizza – which I happen to like very much). That will get you one entry. Want more than one entry? Blog about this give away, write about it on Facebook, or Tweet it. Just come back and comment again to let me know that you did it. I will randomly choose a winner on Sunday at 5pm and announce the winner on Monday. Good Luck!!
Cheerios provided me with the free product, gift pack, and product information through MyBlogSpark. I was not paid and I have only given you my opinion of the product.
Freebies
Not exactly a freebie but a few weeks ago I introduced you to Groupon. You receive one deal per day based on where you live. The deals have been AWESOME! There is no sign up fee, you only take advantage of the deal that you want. They will send you an email each morning with the deal. Last Friday, the deal was a beer tour & tasting, plus a meal for only $15. This was originally a $35 value. I highly encourage you to sign up and see what comes your way.
Do you use Swagbucks to search online? I recently signed up with them. You simply use them to search instead of Google and you earn Swagbucks that you can cash in on gift cards. It is sorta like MyPoints without all of the email offers. I have researched Swagbucks and it looks like it is going to be a great way to earn gift cards. Some people earn them up all year and cash them in at Christmas time for Amazon gift cards….their whole Christmas list is covered by using the Swagbucks that they earned. You don’t earn bucks for every search…they just randomly pop up. A Swagcode is released everyday…this is another way to earn more bucks. You can even get bucks for printing out grocery coupons. I’m going to give it a try…lets see what happens.
Free wristband from 3M, print out this coupon for a free bagel & smear from Einstein Bagels, free Bare Minerals 10 day sample in store at Sephora (it says in store at the very bottom of the page), free sample of your choice from Kashi, free dried plums sample – use promo code ADSUPER, print out this coupon for a free Love Rocks scented tattoo from Victoria’s Secret, free Cream of Wheat sample, Join the Blizzard Fan Club and get 6 BOGO coupons for blizzards!! Just go on over here and sign up, create a virtual sandwich at Subway and receive a BOGO coupon for a 6 inch sub!
Have a great day!
Win. Win.
Have you heard about the new Frigidaire Spin and win game? You can win all kinds of great prizes (even some that your kids will love)…the grand prize is a Frigidaire Affinity Washer & Dryer. Awesome! The best part? Every time you play, Frigidaire donates $1 to Save The Children’s CHANGE program. This program is dedicated to promoting nutritious snacks and promoting healthier lifestyles to children living in poverty in The United States. I think this is so important. So give it a whirl (get it…whirl?) and spin to win!
Hot for 2010.
So we are almost a month into the new year and I have been reading about all of the new trends for 2010. I decided to give you a little breakdown.
- Fashion – Due to the economy, classic items will be hot this year. Think “smart basics”. The experts do believe that whimsy will make a comeback during the year. When I think whimsy I am reminded of the beautiful bib necklaces that I have seen around. What a great way to elevate your classic wardrobe.
- Entertainment – It is all about women this year. Especially the 40 something woman (yay me). Strong female based drama’s will take over the influx of reality shows out there. It reminds me of the new Julianna Margulles show called “The Good Wife”. I haven’t seen the show but I did see the promo where she slapped her husband pretty hard!
- Food – The melting pot is where it is at. Not the fondue restaurant of the same name…blended cuisines from all over the world. Think a big juicy burger flavored Japanese style. The other trend? Sodium is the new carb. Out with the sodium this year. You will see just about every food brand trying to cut the sodium out of their prepared food. You can even lower the sodium in the food that you cook at home. Here is a salt free pizza seasoning that you can purchase online.
- Living- Upcycling. Huh? I had to find a definition for this one. Upcycling is the process of converting waste materials or useless products into new materials or products of better quality or a higher environmental value. Oh, I get it. Like this cellphone holder made out of a rice bag!
So there you have it. While you are sitting at home watching chick dramas while eating unsalted popcorn you can multi-task and sew your trash into Christmas gifts for next year. Yeah, have fun with that.
As seen on TV
I recently read an article that analyzed some of the products that are sold on TV. They went through a rating of some of the items. Here is my little book report on what I read…
Pedipaws. They gave it 2 (out of 4) stars. I have this product and use it on my miniature Dachshund. I wouldn’t even attempt to use it on my Lab. Great for little dogs, worthless for big dogs. They claim that in was noisy and scared their dog. Winnie is scared of her own shadow…and had no problem with the noise.
Bumpits. They gave it one star. I have never tried this product…but have been tempted to get it for my teenage daughter. After reading this article I decided that her hair is to thin to cover up the Bumpit…that seemed to be the problem with most of the testers. You can watch Ellen try one out on The Office star Jenna Fischer here.
Debbie Meyer Green Bags. 4whole stars! These bags actually keep your fruits and vegetables fresh longer. I could really use these…I often throw out lots of produce that is past its prime.
Lookout Snuggie…there is a new towel with arms in town! The Wearable towel (a towel with arm openings) received…oh, only 1 star. Yeah, you will look like a doofus wearing this.
Show the love.
Is Valentines Day all about showing your love with Conversation Heart candies? Here are a few different ways to show your love on the special day.
Message in a mug. You can buy a stencil for your honey’s coffee. They have a ton to choose from at Coffeestencils.com. What a surprise this would be…especially delivered in bed!

Lunchbox Love. Positive little notes to tuck into your child’s lunchbag. Not only do they get a great message from you, they can also practice their reading skills. They each contain a great message on the front and some fun trivia on the back.
Bigger than the Super Bowl.
Have you chosen a side yet? Conan or Leno. Do you have a favorite? I like them both…but feel like Conan really got the raw end of the stick. Will I still watch NBC? Yes. I don’t have the willpower to stop watching…but I do know people that are boycotting NBC . Personally, my family can’t function without The Weather Channel- which is owned by NBC. If you do have a side, maybe you should show your support. If you are on Team Leno..good luck with that. I can find very few (a couple of mediocre) Leno shirts, and a bunch of awesome Conan shirts. Even Leno’s team website greets you with this message “Seriously, your on Team Leno? Don’t you understand comedy?” As for Conan? I think he will walk away a very rich man…and lots of people in his corner. I actually feel sorry for Fallon.
I love the graphic on this shirt…
Freebies…
I hope you guys have time to get the freebies today. As for me? Busy driving & waiting…and wondering why I would schedule 2 kids dentist appointments and one eye doctor appointment on the same day as a Highschool meet. Yeah…driving, sitting, and cursing myself.
Free Playtex Sport Pack, print out a coupon for a free box of Sunbelt Granola bars, free mold test kit, free Art Cow photo watch – become a fan on Facebook and get 3 of your friends to become fans too, print out this coupon for a 1 cent soda at AMPM (formerly BP), print out a coupon for a free taco at Taco Bell.
How many times do you end up at the checkout line of your grocery store and suddenly remember that all of your reusable grocery bags are still in your car? I do it ALL the time. You can get a free static window cling that reminds you to bring your bags in. Great Idea!
Don’t forget to register your giftcards. I just received a postcard in the mail from Starbucks with a coupon for a free oatmeal…just because I registered my giftcard. I also received a $2 bonus on a Dunkin Donuts card…just for registering it. Go through all of the cards that you received over the holidays and register the card. Some companies will even replace a lost card if it was registered. Take the time to do it today (and think of me hauling my children ALL over town while you do it)
Really?
I was shopping with Riley yesterday and we ended up at Target (shocker, right?). I had to get Diet Coke and headed to their new bulk warehouse section for a pretty good deal on it. While I was loading my Diet Coke into the cart she held up a really cute pink t-shirt and asked if she could get it. It was cute. Sure. Get it. I figured it would be $9.99 or so…wrong. What I failed to notice was the Ed Hardy signature on the front of the shirt. Yeah, it was $65.99. Really? A t-shirt at Target for $65?? Ah…no way! I had no idea they were now carrying Ed Hardy. They did have Polo shirts (real Polo shirts) for $22. Not a bad deal. But 65 bucks for a girls t-shirt…ridiculous. Hello Target, Macy’s has Ed Hardy shirts for $38.
