Great Day!

Yesterday was a great prezzie day!  First, I ordered myself this to start out the new year just right…

Isn’t she pretty?  This little gem will organize all of the papers that currently call my kitchen counter a home.  It has a place for everything…perfection.  I’m so excited!  Right now it comes with a free calendar and free shipping.  Plus…with this code you can get 10% off.  I even had mine monogrammed…I can’t wait to get it!

My friend Kristen found a great deal on Vera Bradley purses at Stein Mart.  Who knew?  She picked me up this great bag for only $20!  Thanks Kristen :)   Actually, her husband Steve got it for me.  So, Thanks Steve! What a treat!  Head to Stein Mart right now to buy some great gifts (wouldn’t they make a great teacher gift?)…or just surprise a friend with a treat!

My students at school were so thoughtful and kind.  They gave me some really great gifts.  Polka-dotted Christmas tumblers, yummy candles, treats to eat (chocolate covered pretzels..yum), a few Starbucks gift-cards, I could go on & on.  I also received a gift certificate to this online store…and I can’t wait to spend it!  I can’t wait to pick out something monogrammed and fabulous!  If I still had babies at home I would most certainly get these…(can you believe they are only $12???)

One of my students even gave me a half zip tech shirt from REI (and some watermelon gels)!  Boy, do they know me well :)

As a busy, busy mom it is nice to have a treat day every now and then…it feels good sometimes when just for a little while it is all about you.

Comfort.

I received a great little present in the mail this weekend from Sanita Clogs.  An amazing pair of shoes!  Sanita Clogs are The original Danish clogs.  That means total comfort & cool European styling in one little box!  I opened my box and saw a pair of Professional Rustic Olive clogs.  They are really cool looking – the leather is very distressed looking, which I love.  I whipped off my slippers and put on my new clogs.  Seriously comfortable.  Seriously.  They feel so good.  I can’t even describe how good they feel…if you have any kind of job where you are on your feet – GET  THESE NOW.  They also have a secret benefit – they make you a lot taller.  I probably gained two inches.  I actually had people ask me if I lost weight…hee-hee…it was my new added height!  I love the fact that they have low backs on them…I don’t like a total open back on my shoes.  Clogs have come a long way, take a look at some of the great styles Sanita has to offer.  Yes, they cost more than a trip to Payless – but they are made really well & will last a lifetime.  Plus they are heaven on my feet.

Heart Felt.

My friend Tonya decided to splurge on her “forever” stockings for her family this year.  She decided her family was complete and it was time to get some stockings that she loved.  She found a lady that makes stockings out of sweaters and blankets.  She felts the wool and sews them into adorable Christmas stockings.  Each stocking is unique based on the item that it was made from.  Let me tell you, they look awesome hanging on her mantle.  Good choice Tonya!  Not only does she sell stockings…she does quite a few other felted items.  You really should visit Felted Heart and see for yourself….

Unfortunately…I can’t find an image of the stockings.  Hmmm…she must be sold out!

What to do with it all.

I was going through some old boxes in the basement (my husband has been busy creating his “man cave” and needed a little more room) and have come across lots of boxes of great artwork that the kids did when they were little.  What in the world do I do with it?  Saving it in a box does it no justice….but I don’t want to toss it all away.  Here are a few ideas that I have come up with.  All of the following products can be made with your child’s artwork.

Make it into stationary.  What a great idea!  Only $1.24 per card.

I could wear it…you send in your artwork and have it made into a piece of jewelry.  Cool!

Turn it into a cheese board.  Maybe.

I love this one…make a print out of it.  It gives it that museum look and will last super long.

What do you do with all of the artwork?  Please don’t tell me it is in a box in the man cave.

Stuff for the stockings.

My favorite part of Christmas morning is the surprise inside of everyone’s stocking.  I love all of the goodies that spill out of that little knit sock.  I like to find really unique and fun items when stuffing a stocking.  Here are a few adult stocking stuffers…

Never be without a pen again…

I love all of the fun note pads from Knock Knock…

This pocket garden is perfect for a stocking…

Make your own yoga cards.  Fun!

A light up coaster for your bedside.  Need this.

Who wouldn’t love to pull this eye kit out of their stocking?  It includes all of the materials and instructions.

Does it get anymore unique than unicorn key covers?

or cupcake flavored floss?

Anything miniature is perfect for a stocking.  I love this little hand warmer!

Got Flu?

Has your home been hit by the flu yet? Thankfully, we have not been infected…yet.  I do believe in lots & lots of Oust or Lysol spray – on door handles, faucets, or any other hard surface.  Another great product that will actually help keep your bathroom germ free is the SimpleHuman automatic soap dispenser.  It is touch-free…so no germies on the soap pump!  You simply put your hand under it and it dispenses the soap right onto your hands.  You can adjust the volume that comes out…so it will dispense the right amount of soap for your taste.  It also blinks for 20 seconds after dispensing the soap – this is to show little ones how long to lather the soap in their hands before they wash it off.  I also find that it keeps my bathroom cleaner…no grimy soap dispenser with old soap dripping down it.
