Bazaar.

My Church hosted a holiday bazaar and luncheon yesterday.  I love seeing all of the handmade items that people are selling (and the chili is pretty darn good too!).  One of the booths that was there was called Paper to Pearls.  At first glance it looked like one of the many jewelry tables that were scattered around the room.  But this one was different.  Paper to Pearls jewelry is made by women in the refugee camps of Uganda.  They take strips of colored paper and roll them into beads.  Then they lacquer them with a not-toxic varnish.  They really look like beads made out of a stone or clay!  The colors are amazing and they have a ton of different necklaces and bracelets to choose from.  The best part is that the income from each sale helps the women in Uganda support themselves and their families.  What a great organization!  Are you looking for a unique and meaningful Christmas present for someone?  This is your answer.
