College football season is upon us! I decided to highlight a few necessary tailgate items that you should have at every game. Luckily, Bud Light has put together quite a collection. My favorite happens to be the Floozie – a combination coozie and foam finger. The Grooler combines a cooler with a pop up grill. What man wouldn’t want the 3-in-1 condiment gun? Be the hit at the tailgate and come with something unique.
The Sippin Seat is still our favorite stadium item. Simply fill the bladder with your favorite beverage and enjoy throughout the game.

Oudin Rocks…and so do her shoes!
Melanie Oudin is amazing! Not only is she from right down the road from me (go Georgia!)…this 17 year old came out of nowhere and got all of the way to the US Open quarterfinals before she was defeated. I think we will see a lot more from Melanie Oudin soon. Another reason that I think she rocks? Her tennis shoes are awesome…and she designed them herself. The pink and yellow color scheme for the customized adidas sneakers was selected by Oudin herself. Before the Open, adidas said Oudin’s shoes wouldn’t be available to the public. Given the attention Oudin is drawing, the company might want to rethink that decision. Instead of putting her name on the heel of the shoe (as was originally designed), Oudin asked to have the word “BELIEVE” instead. She said her boyfriend (who is 15 years old — yeah, you read that right) came up with the idea. Here are her super cute sneaks…

Pack it Right.
Do you love packing your child’s lunch or do you loathe packing your child’s lunch? I always enjoyed packing lunch for my girls. Riley & I still work together to create a creative but healthy lunch for her to take to school. We love putting different things in each day to mix it up a little. Warner Bros.’ Looney Tunes and Safeway have teamed up and created a super healthy and extremely fun line of food for kids called Eating Right Kids. They have taken careful steps to ensure that it not only tastes good, it is formulated to standards based on the most recent dietary recommendations. It sorta reminds me of “garanimals for food”. Do you remember the garanimal line of clothing…you could mix & match items from the line and you would end up with a different outfit each time using the same basic pieces of clothing. You can do the same thing with your child’s lunch bag. I received a sample lunch bag and had a great time seeing what was inside. Here is what my bag contained: Eating Right Kids Fruit Cup, whole wheat pasta, 100% apple juice, and a chewy bar. Riley would love this lunch! I could completely change it the next day…how about Eating Right Kids Watermelon Applesauce, Fat Free Pudding, Apples with Peanut Butter, chicken soup, and orange tangerine juice? Yum! They also have breakfast selections too. Your kids will love the fun packaging…lots of Looney Toons characters to look at during their lunchtime. How do you get creative while maintaining nutrition in you child’s lunch?

Fit Friday – I win sometimes too.
Did you ever watch the Bozo show on TV when you were little? My favorite part of the show was when they would let one of the kids try to be the “Grand Prize” winner. Each level of the game racked up more and more prizes for the kid and someone at home. I love dreaming about being the big winner on the Bozo show. Fast forward 20 (okay, 20+) years…my local morning show that I watch gives away a ton of prizes. And I enter to win every one of them. Every day. From Bloomingdale’s Gift Certificates to speakers for your iPod, I have entered. Last week I actually won the prize of the day!!! I screamed when they flashed my name on the TV and announced my name (even though they called me Kathy.)! My husband asked me what I won….”a scooter. Actually a Pumgo.” Yeah, I won a Pumgo. The morning anchors had been tootling around on my Pumgo all morning…hey, they looked like they were having fun. I rushed down to the station to pick up my “Grand Prize Pumgo” and couldn’t wait to get home and try it out. In fact, I may or may not have taken it for a short ride in the CBS lobby downtown Atlanta. I’ll never tell. As it turns out, the Pumgo is pretty awesome. It is the world’s first fitness scooter. You pump the pedals up and down to make it go…. it is sort of like riding an elliptical machine. It gives you a great leg & butt workout! My girls and I all love riding on our Pumgo. What a great way to ride scooters with your children – you can combine your workout and your playtime. I almost forgot…it has a bell on it. I sound like the ice cream man. How cool is that?
