Whirlwind!
This weekend was quite a whirlwind….10 mile run, block party, Sugarland concert, KSU Women’s soccer game, grocery shopping….and more. I didn’t have time to write a post for today. I did pick up some of the Kashi Pumpkin Spice Flax bars to celebrate Fall. They are awesome!! Like a Thanksgiving dessert.
Fitness Friday – when is it too much?
My friend Tonya and I have trained for the past 11 weeks to run The Kennesaw Locomotive Half Marathon next weekend. We have been following a training schedule from SmartCoach and have not missed a single run. We have done everything that they have asked us to – ran 9 miles in torrential rain, ran 8 miles super sick, ran in 90+ degree weather, ran in the dark…you name it! We have never walked once during any of our runs…just kept on shuffling along. We have one long run left this weekend – 10 miles to be exact. Just one long run before the race…after 3 months of training. Only Tonya has hurt herself…probably a stress fracture in the shin. She has been running in severe pain and might not be able to complete the race. She is devistated and will not give up…even though her running partner (me) thinks she should. Don’t get me wrong, I will be devistated if she can’t run this race with me…but I will really be devistated if running this race prevents her from running again. Ever. So when is it to much? She is very strong willed and will probably run this race – which I admire about her. But I’m worried about her. There are always more races….you only get two legs. Advice?
For now I wish she would sit on the couch with her Boo Boo Buddy on her leg and start planning for our next big race adventure together.

Holy Bicycle!
This bicycle rocks! First of all, it comes in this awesome robins egg blue color (cream and black too)…which I happen to think I would look really good riding in my chocolate brown fleece. The best part of the bike is the big bucket on the back that would hold my entire Publix shopping trip. How cool would it be to be able to ride to the grocery store and back? The bucket even has a removable bench seat in it with two seatbelts! I love the fact that they have taken something that has been around forever (the bicycle) and made it even more functional.

Today’s post has been rained out. We are having severe rains and floods in our area. School is canceled today. My husbands car took on too much water and had to be towed home last night. Here is a picture from a neighborhood down the road…

For the girl who has everything…
I have been trying to throw a few ideas at you that would make great Christmas gifts…have you noticed? I am trying to start early this year (aka now). We all know someone who has everything…don’t we? I bet she doesn’t have a Twisk. Here is the product description
