I have been away…

I have spent the last eight days cruising the Caribbean Seas.  We took a cruise through the Western Caribbean – visiting Haiti, Jamaica, Grand Caymans, and Cozumel.  It was awesome!  We were on The Freedom of the Seas – what an amazing ship!  So much to do and see.  We swam with dolphins, climbed waterfalls, ice skated, surfed, climbed rock walls, shopped, ate to much, and floated in the ocean.   We loved every minute of it (except for leaving the ship).  I’ll be back Wednesday with your freebies…thanks for being patient while I was away.  Here are a few pictures from our trip.

I wish they would have invented this 15 years ago.

There are some really clever products for babies/toddlers out there.  I’m so glad someone has taken all of the “why can’t you buy…” ideas that we all came up with as Moms and turned them into a business.  Lucky new Mom’s get to get all of the cool stuff!

Sticker place mats!  How genius is that idea?  Seriously smart.  I’m jealous.

liteA changing pad that covers the whole changing table in public restrooms.  You never know when a lefty has use the changing table.  Think about it.  A lefty would have their kid’s butt where your kid’s head goes.  Ick.

liteYou need this bad if you have a carseat.  Real bad.  Throw up goes in every crevice of a carseat.

liteThe best part is that you can get all of these pieces in a matching pattern.  Cute and necessary.

Are you in?

Are you in to the Twilight craze?  It seems like everyone who even looks at the books is instantly hooked…kind of like a spell has been put on them.  I have not read the books.   My daughter has read them all.  I just don’t think I will like them.  I don’t know how a book about vampires can be so globally popular.  Anyway, if you are a fan I found some Twilight inspired goodies for you.

I know someone (ahem…Carin) that would love this necklace.  In fact, she probably already owns it!  In case you can’t read it…”Forever Love (heart) Edward”…

liteA “team Edward” bracelet.  I actually thought it was a New Kid’s On The Block bracelet when I first looked at it.

liteDon’t go anywhere without your pocket Edward.

liteI’m sure your husband won’t mind this hanging in the bedroom…

Please don’t hurt me…

Due to family obligations I don’t have a freebie post for today.  I’m sorry!  I promise to make it up to you with a fun giveaway next week (with lots of winners).  I thought big puppy dog eyes would keep you from getting angry.  Did it work?

I need this NOW.

At any given time there are at least 4 devices sitting around charging.  Cords hang everywhere.  If you aren’t careful you can easily snag the cord and knock the ipod/cellphone/laptop/DS/orwhatever off of the counter top or table.  I think these little cutie pies might just solve the problem.  Oh, and they come it lots of colors!

binAnd while I’m at it, I might as well try this out too…

Fit Friday – check your heartrate!

I have been reading a lot about the benefits of using a heart rate monitor while exercising.  The top 5 reasons to use a monitor are:

  1. It improves your health – you can make sure that you are working out at the right intensity
  2. Lose Weight – If your heart rate is not elevated high enough or to high to lose weight…there is a specific zone you should be in to lose weight.
  3. Make the most of a short workout – get to the right level and stay there for a short workout
  4. Safety – you should know if your heart rate is dangerously high.
  5. Self Coaching – A heart rate watch will alert you when you are in the zone, falling from the zone, or at other intervals of your choice.  It will yell at you just like a coach.

My Garmin has a heart rate strap that I can wear…but I don’t like to wear it.  It straps around my chest and feels uncomfortable.  NuMetrex makes a sports bra with a built in heart rate monitor.  You just put on the bra, snap on the tiny transmitter, and it will link to your watch or machine that you are using.  I love that I don’t have to have something strapped to my chest!  The transmitter is compatible with all Polar watches – which I happen to love!  They are small and easy to use.  You can buy a bra & watch package for around $100.  Trust me, once you start using your  heart rate  data in your workout, you will see results – especially for weight loss!
