Wow! Okay. I have LOTS to do…and not lots of time to do it! Mike & Maddie are headed to NYC today to spend the weekend with Mike’s Sister & Brother-in-Law – I hope they get to see big piles of snow. So….we have been wrapping lots of gifts that need to head North. Not to bad. Packing Maddie? Ughhh. She really needs a new suitcase too. We just can’t find the perfect one. Any suggestions? Riley is singing in our Church’s Cantata this weekend…practice, practice, practice! Riley has a birthday party to go to, we have presents to buy/wrap, not to mention her own birthday on Wednesday…you get the idea. Seriously, I’m starting to miss my Lexapro. If you are wondering what to get me for Christmas, I could probably use any of the following…..
On a good note…the girls and I had a great FREE trip to the mall last night. Here is how it went down. I got a free pair of Cuddl Duds at JC Penney. Sign up for their mailing list and you will get great coupons! I had one for $15 off of ANY purchase – this made my Cuddl Duds free! Cuddl Duds are great “temperature-sensitive warmwear” (that’s a fancy name for Long Johns). They are so comfortable and warm! Maddie as actually taking my pair to New York this weekend.
Maddie also got a free pair of Flirtitude panties at JC Penney by bringing in her Seventeen Magazine cover. Then we headed off to American Eagle. If you are a member of their Aerie club you get a free gift each month plus an extra gift on your birthday. We all three got a lip gloss in a cute little bag (and some mistletoe). Riley got a lip gloss compact that has 6 different colors in it for her birthday treat. They will be starting up a new program in January…so stop in and sign up! Victoria’s Secret was our next stop….they sent me a coupon for $10 off ANY purchase. Maddie found a really cute PINK tote bag (originally $40, marked down) that she ended up paying nothing for!! She really needed a new bag for school. Our next deal was at the Aveda store. For some weird reason Riley & I are on their mailing list…we get lots of postcards from them for free items. She had a birthday card from them…she got to custom design a fragrance and then have it made into a product. They made her smell all of these different scents and rate them, then they took her favorite scents to create her signature scent. She could choose from shampoo, lotion, conditioner, salt scrub, perfume…and lots of others. She ended up choosing the lotion….and it was a full size (which sells for over $20)! Last stop…Build-a-Bear. Riley is really over playing with her bears, but they mailed her a $5 coupon for her birthday. She picked out two things for Winnie (our dachshund) – a blinking Christmas collar and a cute little Santa hat. For free. The moral of this rather long Mall story is that it really pays to sign up for mailing lists and reward programs at your stores. When they ask for your email or mailing address, give it to them! Retail value of our free trip to the mall = $99. We didn’t pay anything!

In the store this week if you buy one, you get another one for half price!
