Time Change..

I realized the other day that I hardly had any clocks to change this year when the time changed happened last Weekend. Everything seems to be electronic and changes itself. It got me thinking about traditional clocks and how much I always loved grandfather clocks . I love how different each one is. They can look different and sound different. Some of them are very ornate and traditional. Kind of regal. I love this Howard Miller III clock. Can you even imagine how beautiful it must sound? Although it must look old it still has some modern touches…like an automatic nighttime shutoff. How very hip.

A little fancy for you? There is a wide variety of contemporary clocks available. Look at this Hermle Contemporary Grandfather clock. Who know Grandpa could be so sleek?

I actually found a posting on a blog that suggests that you take Daylight Savings time every year to really pay attention to your clocks. Make sure that you have enough clocks, the right clock for the right room, and that all of your clocks are working properly. Kind of like when they tell you to check your smoke detector batteries twice a year. I guess that is what got me looking at my clocks and thinking about Grandfather clocks. I have always loved the sound of them!  They are still out there…brand new for you to pick one out.  Look around your house…maybe you have a spot that is perfect for a Grandfather clock.

Back to normal

I didn’t have much time to prepare a post for you yesterday…this is good news. It means that we are getting back to normal :) Yesterday I took Maddie to the mall! I wanted to get her out and about now that she is feeling better. I do have a few things to report from the mall:

  • We both used our Seventeen Magazine coupons to get the free tank top from Aeropostale. She used her actual magazine, I printed mine from the computer. The tank is very cute. click HERE to print the SEVENTEEN.com home page. Bring a printout of the SEVENTEEN.com home page to an AÉROPOSTALE store and receive a free tank top (the value is $19.50).

  • I picked up a free pair of Undies from Victoria’s Secret. If you get on their mailing list you will receive coupons at least 4 times a year for a free pair. I’m not sure if you have to buy something to be on the list. If you do, it is worth it to buy something inexpensive just to be on their mailing list.

  • Riley received two coupons in the mail from Build-a-bear and was able to use both of them. She created a really cute bear for $8.00. Again, get on their mailing list! You will receive coupons and $5 gift certificates. The $5 certificate that she used was actually mailed to Winnie (my dog)…Riley signed her up too. I think Winnie was a little disappointed that we didn’t use it to get her a new outfit – the clothes fit her perfectly. Riley’s bear was a special edition bear that donated part of the proceeds to Children’s health issues.

  • We are getting an H&M at our mall!! I knew the chain was coming to the Atlanta area…but I figured the closest one to me would be downtown. Maddie & I were psyched! H&M is a chain that comes from the UK. They offer great prices on super hip clothing. I have shopped at H & M while visiting my sister in Belgium and loved it. They have Mens, Womens, and Childrens clothes. Madonna even has her own line at H&M.

  • What do you do when you need your child’s foot measured and fitted for shoes but they don’t wear Stride Rite sizes anymore? This was the problem that I had with Riley. I couldn’t really figure out what size tennis shoe she needed and she complained about every shoe that I put on her foot. After spending a frustrating hour in Famous Footwear I took her to a store called Foot Solutions. They measured her, examined her stride, and fitted her with a great pair of Brooks running shoes. She was thrilled! She said that she has never had a shoe feel so comfortable. I have used Foot Solutions in the past and was really impressed. They take the time to fit you in the right shoe for you. I buy my Spira’s and my MBT’s and Spring Boost shoes from them. If you haven’t had your foot measured in a while I highly recommend it. The right fitting shoe can make such a difference. They also have a variety of accessories from custom orthotics to socks.

Overall, we had a great day! Have a super weekend :)
