Regret.

Did you ever talk yourself out of buying something and then regret it later? When we were at the Expo at Disney (for the Half-Marathon) I stopped into visit Kim Overton’s booth. She is the founder & creator of Spibelt. Spibelt’s are these amazing stretchy little belts that hold everything you need while you run. They are great for cell phones, keys, snacks, and more. It was great to meet Kim…she is a little firecracker! She was working her very crowded (I think she sold out) booth all by herself! Yeah, I’m here in Atlanta kicking myself for not getting one.

Luckily, my sister bought one for herself and wrote a review for my site! Thanks Amy! Here it is…

There is an unwritten rule in running that, on the day of a big race, you never use brand new clothes, equipment, sports drink or anything that you haven’t tested out first in training. I broke that rule for the spibelt and I did not regret it! I bought one at the Expo just before the Disney Half Marathon and I was so enthusiastic about it that I decided to go ahead and wear it during the race so I could carry my cell phone, which also has a camera. By the middle of the race my old water belt which I had trained with many times was killing me and I wanted to take it off and chuck it on the side of the road, but the spibelt was fine! It doesn’t bounce and whatever you put in it doesn’t shake so it is very comfortable.

At the end of the race, I was so happy I had worn it – I was able to text my friends right away to tell them I finished, my husband was able to call me to congratulate me, and I was able to take some post-race pictures of my sisters, my mom and myself – priceless! The spibelt was such a handy way to carry this one small, but important item!

Have you ever talked yourself out of a purchase and later regretted it?  I would love to hear about it.

While on the subject of running, there was a great device being sold at the ING Miami Marathon Expo called AquaJoe. It’s designed to carry sports drink powder and works together with any sports bottle, bottled water, hydration pack etc. Check out the video at aquajoe.com

Just wanted to add: we went ice skating today and I used the spibelt to hold my money and car keys while skating because the rink doesn’t have any lockers where you can put your purse. I felt sorry for all the moms trying to skate with little backpacks or even small purses hanging on them.

Yeah, I regret that I didn’t buy this at the White Rock Expo. I was going to get one at the Disney Expo but they were out of my size. Maybe I’m not suppose to have one. Hope they will be at the Georgia ING, I can try again.
