Happy Monday! I’m so excited…Wednesday is Halloween. I love Halloween! Last Saturday night the kids(and Winnie) got dressed in their costumes and attended our Church’s Trunk or Treat. It was so much fun seeing the kids all dressed up. Maddie actually won 2nd place in the costume contest with her “gangsta” costume…must have been the grill we got her!! I especially love the babies that are dressed so cute, there was an adorable baby turtle all snugly and cute. What a blast! I can’t wait for Wednesday..actual trick or treat day! I’m busy planning for the festivities. So far I know I am making Witch Hat Calzones and super easy Chicken Chili in the crock-pot. Now I just need to get my table ready…
Department 56 always has some of my favorite Christmas ornaments each year…they always come out with a dachshund ornament! Well, they also have the cutest Halloween line this year. You can usually find their stuff at Macy’s…I bet it is even on sale right now! Look at what I found…

What am I running with now?
Here I am with another installment of KatyRuns on KatyShops! I have to try really hard to stay motivated with my running…that means trying out more new products! Here are some more new things…
Running Funky – Finally the weather is much cooler now. Unfortunately I have to rethink my running attire…especially in the morning. My go to outfit is usually one of my running skirts…not when it is cold out! What do runner’s wear when it is cold? Tights of course. Running Funky has the greatest selection of running tights that I have ever seen! Not only are the super comfortable, quick to dry, and made for runners by runners – they are so colorful and fun. Have you ever heard someone yell “I like your pants” to you as you run past them? I have! Running tights that make you smile. Not only do they sell running tights they also have a colorful assortment of Capris, shorts, Trisuits, tanks, and tees. Along with my tights they sent me a great polka-dotted tank…it is awesome! It is loose fitting with a bra sewn right into it. I love that!
Body Bottle – I don’t like to take a ton of water with me on my short runs…but sometimes I still get a little thirsty. The Body Bottle is a great way to carry 10 oz of water or sports drink with you in a convenient flask shaped bottle that includes a velcro strap to wrap around your upper arm. I really like it because sometimes you just don’t want something around your waist or you only want to carry a little water with you. I’m sure I could also come up with a ton of non-running uses for this “flask”! For only $10.95 this little gizmo will come in handy.
Speed Laces – I have this thing about tying my shoes…they can’t be to tight or my feet start to get claustrophobia. I mean it. I will freak out if my laces feel to tight on the top of my foot. Speed laces are awesome! First of all they make putting on your shoes super quick, but the lacing also automatically adjusts to the pressure of my run. The lace tension stays the same all the way through my run! Running has never been more comfortable. Another benefit…my laces won’t come untied during my run…nobody likes to stop running to tie their shoes.

I have not been taking the time to read lately. It seems like I always have a million and one things to get done…or I am obsessed with improving my brain age on the Nintendo DS. I have a few that I want to read…
A Most Uncommon Degree of Popularity by Kathleen Gilles Seidel has been recommended for all mothers of little girls. Especially those with middle school daughters…or really any of us moms…we were all in middle school once. We all know how mean girls can be. This is on my list of books to buy…or borrow…anybody have it?
Update: I just finished reading this book and loooved it. Anyone with girls can totally relate to the main character. An awesome quick read.
Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. You must live under a rock if you haven’t heard of this one. I have it…just haven’t started it yet. I have read so many great things about it…I need to read this one before I buy anymore books!
Water For Elephants by Sara Gruen. I can’t find a bad review on this one. Read the reviews on Amazon…it seems to speak for itself.
One Hundred Years Of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Another one that has been on my list for a while. Again, great reviews.

Okay, I’m sure the title of this blog entry turned some of you off a little. It’s feet people, we all have them! I ended up with a wicked blister on my pinky toe following Friday Nights concert. It really hurts. It got me thinking about things that make your feet feel better.

Oh, what to write about? I will begin by telling you what an awesome weekend that I had. Friday night I accompanied 10 other girlfriends to Phillips Arena to see Rascal Flatts. It has been years since I have gone to a concert…I had such a blast that I am already planning the next one! Kelley Pickler opened…she is adorable…and teeny tiny. I did end up with a blister on my toe and a big giant bruise on my hiney…thats another story. Saturday Riley had her Fall Festival at school…she was successful in the cake walk and came home with a yummy apple pie! Winnie had a visit at the retirement home…she was spoiled rotten…I actually had to take her home early due to the fact that the ladies were feeding her oatmeal cookies…we left after her 4th cookie. They sure do love her! On Sunday I took the girls to get their Halloween Costumes…there are some very strange costumes out there!! While at Target we picked up the most adorable decoration for a pumpkin…It’s a Mr. Potato Head for pumpkins…

I love when someone comes out with a product that really helps me out in day to day life. Saves me time, makes life easier, and just plain works! I had the opportunity to try out some things that do just that.
PanTree – When I open the cupboard that holds my pots & pans I think the entire neighborhood can hear them falling and clanging. They seem very organized until I try to get one out from the bottom…thats when they start to fall and make noise! I remember when the girls were little…I didn’t dare take out the frying pan during nap time. PanTree to the rescue!! For only $24.99 you can have a cupboard full of pots and pans that will never fall. This is the first cookware organizer that uses the vertical space in your lower cabinets to control every bit of cookware that you own while only taking up 13 inches of horizontal space and 19 inches of vertical space. You know how much I like really cute tees. So many people ask me for great t-shirts for Moms…you ask…you get it! I just happen to have some to share with you today..

- Role Mommy – This online site contains a plethora of mommy information and lots of laughs too. They sent me their “peeing in peace” book and it had me laughing out loud! Every mom can relate to the simple goal of peeing in peace! They also sent along some of their tees. My favorite one is the “I don’t do cupcakes” shirt. I sported this shirt at my daughters school last month and even the principal wanted to know where to get one! Another great one is the “I need a playdate!” shirt…what mom doesn’t need a playdate? They also have cute little tees for boys and girls.
- Time Out Spots – We have all heard about Super Nanny and her Naughty Spots…Time Out Spots actually sells rugs for this purpose! Time out is much easier to enforce when you have a specific spot that you always use for time out only. This time out spot is the perfect size and very comfortable…while I don’t have toddlers anymore my doxie Winnie tested it out for me…she gives paws up! Now just because my kids may not need time out anymore doesn’t mean that I don’t! I love their time out shirts for mommy- a great looking ringer tee. They also have them for Dads, kids, and dogs. You see…everyone needs a little time out.
- Hot Mama Ink – Have you ever watched an episode of Miami Ink and thought that a tattoo would be super cool? I personally love the artwork involved in tattoos but am super chicken when it comes to needles….and I often wonder how those tattoos will look on saggy 80 year old skin. Enter Hot Mama Ink…super hip cool tattoo inspired mommy shirts. - Mom Tshirts – Simple statement tees. These are for Moms, Aunts, Dogs, kids, babies, Dads, and families…basically they are for everyone! My favorite shirt just has the word “mommy” on it. Simple and to the point! They will actually put anything you want onto your shirt of choice. These shirts are super soft 100% cotton – very comfie! Here are some of my favorites….
- Royalty Girl – they have so many different shirts on their site that you will have to make sure to take a look. These are great for teens…very cool sayings. “No Autographs or Photos Please”, “Freshmen Girls Rock”, and “Rocker Chick” are just a few of the sassy slogans you will find on Royalty Girls Tees. They have so many more!!
- Local Celebrity – All the “cool people” are wearing these shirts…or so they tell me. These are very hip and very L.A. Chances are that you might have even seen some very famous people wearing Local Celebrity. What I like about them is that they are nice and long (very important), very soft, and come in about a thousand different styles! Who knows…maybe people will mistake you for a celebrity?
