Radio Thursday…Great Gadgets!

Who doesn’t like a great gadget. My husband is the king of gadgets…so I had him help me out with this segment.

  • Zeno – An electronic Zit Zapper!! This is amazing. You simply heat up the Zeno (it will beep when it is ready) and hold it on your zit until it beeps again (for 2 1/2 minutes). It is portable, rechargeable, and each zit only takes 2-3 treatments. And guess what…It doesn’t hurt at all! This is great for those occasional zits that really hurt.

  • Car MD – Checks the health of your car! Hear a strange noise? Did one of the “lights” come on? Want to make sure your mechanic is being honest? Plug up the CarMD…let it do its thing. After CarMD diagnoses your problem you can log on to their site to lookup repairs needed and cost estimates. For only $90 this could save you hundreds at the shop!

  • Simple Human Soap Dispenser – Does the soap in your bathroom get pretty yucky? Not at my house! We have a Simple Human sensor soap pump in our bathroom. Simply hold your hand under the sensor to dispense the right amount of soap in your hand. No cross contamination or icky gooey soap bottles. Genius!

  • TweezLight – Professional lighted tweezers! Another genius invention! These really allow you to see every hair, splinter, or who knows what! I find them invaluable when getting splinters out of my kids. It’s like a spotlight right where you need it. Awesome!

  • Suunto GPS Watch – I can’t even begin to tell you all of the amazing things that this watch will do for you! I have the X9i and have to fight my husband for it everyday! This watch is actually a computer that will not only give you the essential navigation tools (route planning, speed and distance, track back) it also includes and electronic compass, altimeter (it will even give you a ski run calculator), weather station (barometer and temp), and much more! You can even view your hike on Google Earth. I use it when I am running or walking. It tells me how far I have gone and what my pace is. My husband likes to take it into the woods when hunting – I like that he won’t get lost, it will always lead him back to his start point. While researching the X9i I visited many of the message boards that talk about this product…let me tell you, many of our soldiers are wearing this exact watch. It is super easy to install the software on your computer and hook the watch up – learning all of the functions can be a little tricky…just be patient with yourself! This would make a great gift for anyone who enjoys outdoor activities.

  • KangaRooM Storage - What to do with all of those devices that need charging? In our house we have our 3 cellphones, 2 PDA’s, 2 iPods, 1 bluetooth….and on & on! I don’t want chargers and plugs all over the place so I use a charging station by KangaRooM. I love the wall mount version. It hides away the cords and a powerstrip behind it’s secret door. Your cell phone fits in a little slot on the top. I also like the desktop version. This one is a little more upscale..it is made out of faux leather, comes in your choice of three colors, and has space to charge two devices at once.

  • Socket Pocket – This nifty little screws on to your outlet cover and provides a pocket to store your device while it is charging. They come in packs of two for only $10.00. What a simple way to coral the cord mess!

  • Chi Flat Iron – I have always looked at the Chi Flat Irons in my salon and wondered why they are so expensive! Could they really be that great? Well, the nice folks at Chi let me test out my theory….YES…they are that good!! Really. I love it! They heat up fast, straighten fast….I love it
