Giving “props” to my mom

My mom is a shopper (gee, it must run in the family). Recently she made two socially conscious but cool purchases. Not only are they great products…but they support great causes. Lean Cuisine is selling insulated designer lunch bags to benefit The Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation. They are super cute and are only $9.95 – and Lean Cuisine will donate $5 to the Susan G Komen Foundation! How nice is that. This is the 5th year that they have been selling the bags….and they sell out quick!

My mom also treated herself to a new Dyson Vacuum cleaner. Not just any Dyson…she got the DC07 Pink vacuum. This limited edition is available only at Target – and yes, Target is donating $40 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. It gets even better…Right now Target will give you a $100 Target giftcard and free shipping when you buy this vacuum.

Way to go Mom – you just donated $45 to Breast Cancer Research (and picked up some awesome pink products at the same time)!

Here are a few more that I found:

  • Target has 3 piece limited edition set of make up bags….100% of the proceeds will go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation! They start at $5.99.

  • I love the “one in seven” shirt…a graphic image and slogan that really gets the message across. One in 7 women will be diagnosed.

With October being breast cancer awareness month…look for pink. Things that you normally buy will now have pink options – this means you are donating to the cause. You will find almost anything pink…post-it notes, m&m’s, or even a George Foreman Grill. Think pink!

I do not know if this is true or not, but if it is…I know you can help get the word out.

The Breast Cancer site is having trouble getting enough people to click on their site daily to meet their quota of donating at least one free mammogram a day to an underprivileged woman. It takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on “donating a mammogram” for free (pink window in the middle).
This doesn’t cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate mammogram in exchange for advertising.

Here’s the web site! Pass it along to people you know.
