Radio Thursday – companies that give back

I love it when a company gives back to the community. It just makes me feel good about them. With Breast Cancer Awareness month approaching you will be hearing a lot about companies that will give back to the cause. One of my favorite’s is “Feel Your Boobies”. I also found many other companies that give to a large variety of causes.

  • Feel Your Boobies – Can it be said any simpler? This company was created in 2004 when a survivor created a simple slogan to get the word out. The companies founder was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 33. She has created her non-profit company to not only raise money for Breast Cancer Research…but to turn heads and open eyes with her merchandise. Shirts, hats, scarves, and even belt buckles all send the same message…FEEL YOUR BOOBIES!

  • (speak) clothing – Speak Clothing was inspired by the founder to motivate others to learn sign language. Each shirt features a beautifully designed American Sign Language hand symbol with the English word below it. They come in both children’s and adult sizes. A percentage of each sale goes directly to benefit children who are deaf or hard of hearing. I am amazed how the creator (Liz Murphy) took her own challenge, a son who was born hearing impaired and impacted so many lives (while creating a beautiful product). Each shirt is 100% organic combed cotton…and super duper soft!

  • Tee’s For Change – This company was started to remind people to think positively. With sayings like Choose Happiness, Today Matters, and Laugh Often…you are affecting everyone who sees you in your shirt. Not only are you spreading positive thinking…you are helping Global Relief. Yes, for every shirt that is purchased they will plant a tree. They were named the 2007 Green Business of the Year! Good thoughts and a good cause…I love it.

  • Yosi Girls – These are the cutest, most unique hair clips, barrettes, and pony tail bands. They are made out of a flexible rubbery material with lots of color and whimsy. They come in so many styles and colors…go crazy! Yosi Girls supports K.I.D.S (Kids in Distressed Situations), Locks of Love, and Girls Inc. Thank you Yosi for giving us great hair accessories and helping out some great causes!

  • One Wish World – One Wish World was started with the simple dream of world peace, pure love, and one heart. How great is that? They have great gifts and apparel. Anything marked with a cherub symbol on their site means that a part or all of the proceeds from that purchase will go to charity. Their signature tee is not only beautiful, for every shirt purchased $10 will be donated to the Kwatatoto Orphanage in Kenya.

  • Envirosax – Envirosax protects the environment for tomorrows offspring by providing an eco-friendly alternative to plastic shopping bags. Envirosax make it extremely easy to support this cause. Each bag holds the equivalent of two grocery sacks, easily rolls up to fit in your purse, and comes in a ton of awesome prints! They even have a 3 pack that fits into a pouch that easily slides into your glove box in your car. Envirosax’s is a supporter of the Monterey Bay Aquarium Science under Sail Project.

  • The Running Skirt - Their mission is to inspire and motivate women to include fitness in their lives everyday. Not only is their website inspiring but they also 100% support fundraising events. They will help you raise money for your cause! Their running skirt is amazing…it is sexy, fun, and functional. Designed to be worn over your leggings or shorts it has a place for everything – pockets for a water bottle, phone, snacks, and more. It comes in two versions – long or short. I love the fact that it wraps right over your shorts…just wrap & go!

Wow! I’m going to have to save this post! I love everything you posted. What a great way to support these organizations.

I donated my hair to Locks of Love a few years ago. It’s such a great organization.
