Have you ever heard of the Japanese chain Muji? It is kinda like the Japanese version of Ikea. Their concept consists of four criteria…reasonable price, simple moderate and functional design, basic understated color, and essential parts for people to design their lifestyles at their discretion. They are getting ready to open a 3,000 square foot SOHO store this November. If you have ever shopped MOMA, you have seen some of Muji’s offerings. The only thing that the store will be missing is the Japanese cafe that exists in their other stores. They have plans to open a Times Square store soon…how long until they reach Atlanta?
